The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes. Marcel Proust
We said Ciao to Italy for a few days and boarded a regional train from Milan to Tirano, past the sapphire blue Lake Como and the pretty villages clinging to its shores.
Afterr another delicious Italian meal it was all aboard the Bernina Express for our sojourn through the Alps to Switzerland.

The train connects Tirano in Italy with Chur in Switzerland by crossing the Swiss Engadin Alps. Viaducts galore, over and under.

We sat in our panoramic carriage, sipping wine and taking in the breathtaking views any moment expecting to see a yodeller, Heidi or maybe Julie Andrews twirling and singing. Perhaps the other passengers were lucky we didn’t drink quite enough wine to treat them to a rendition of The Hills Are Alive or Eidelwiess
Round bends, up mountains, across gorges, past stunning landscapes, glacial water from mountain peaks flowing into streams lakes

And what could make all this even better? The weather,it’s around 30 degrees …who would have thought …. we are sweating in the Alps.

Wow, wow and wow. What a terrific journey. Love seeing your stories with new eyes.

Freda just amazing scenery through the eye of the camera. I can just imagine what it is like to be physically there.
